It looks like we're planning to bring the site up Monday night. While we were originally aiming for this weekend, we're currently waiting on the paperwork to process at our new colo facility. While the tech team works 24/7 the back office team is a 9-5 crew. This may turn out to be a good thing as they are expecting snow, and the first snow of the season can usually be kind of hazardous road condition wise. =P
We'll keep you updated as usual.
On the plus side here's the good news: we're upgrading to a 100Mbit dedicated line, which is roughly 25% more bandwidth. In addition, our new deal allows Fur Affinity to operate its main data center at roughly 40% cheaper costs. This will allow us to further invest money into better hardware, upgrades and permit us to do off-site backups.
(Note: With all due respect to Canada, our new colo facility shall remain in Virginia.)

No srsly, during this ordeal you've had to put up with a lot of stress and bullshit and expense and hard labor for my (our) benefit. And that's awesome of you.

Or in some back up server that allows at least some minimal site usuage or whatever, but not getting more cheap stuff that will mostlikely break again.
Or get them on deals that promise a faster service in such cases. ;3

The average quote we were getting was around $1,600 to $2,000. While FA's current costs were about $880 ($945 total if you count Sirkain) we couldn't afford that level of jump to the "ultra reliable" hosts. This may sound like a bad move on our part, but we had to juggle money as a primary issue.
Keep in mind, the place we're moving at has a standard rate of about $1,000 for what we're getting. However, because they recently expanded and have a lot of open space they were able to offer us a better deal if we signed up for a year and got in early.
Colos like we're moving into buy their bandwidth in bulk, and the more of a commit they get the cheaper the rates are overall. So to help boost their commit rate they've got a special going on that allows us to get in early and get better rates.
Given everything we could find out about them - their facilities, their ratings on www.webhostingtalk.com and various Google reviews everything is on the up and up. Even if they were to double our rates on us at the end of the commit year to their standard rates we'd still be in the green compared to other options in the general area.
Add in the fact the colo is central to three of FA's hardware people... it's not a bad deal.
